Standards : X40CrMoV5
H13 Hot Work Steel

A reliable steel for demanding hot work.

H13 is the most widely used hot work tool steel, belonging to the Cr-Mo-V alloy family. It offers high wear resistance, toughness, and excellent hot strength, making it suitable for both hot and cold work applications. Due to its high chromium content, H13 maintains hardness at elevated temperatures and resists thermal fatigue, heat cracking, and shock loading.

It is commonly supplied in the annealed condition, but pre-hardened H13 (460–500 BHN) is also available for specific applications.

H13 Steel

A proven balance of strength and performance.

H13 Steel is the most widely used hot work tool steel due to its unique balance of hot hardness, toughness, wear resistance, and thermal fatigue resistance. Its versatility allows it to perform reliably in both hot work and cold work tooling applications, as well as in plastic mold tooling. With the availability of ESR and VAR remelted variants, H13 offers enhanced performance for critical applications where superior cleanliness, homogeneity, and fatigue strength are required.
