EN47 STEEL

Grade Introduction

EN47 for spring characteristics and shock resistance.

EN47 is a high-carbon alloy spring steel supplied in the rolled condition. It is suitable for oil hardening and tempering processes. In the hardened and tempered state, EN47 combines excellent spring characteristics with good wear and abrasion resistance.

When hardened, EN47 offers high toughness and superior shock resistance, making it ideal for applications subject to dynamic stresses, impacts, and vibrations.

  • High resilience and fatigue strength
  • Excellent toughness and shock resistance
  • Good wear and abrasion resistance
  • Suitable for oil hardening and tempering
